Summary: 400 delegates from 90 countries gathered in New Delhi on 29th January 2007 for a two-days conference to give a call to use Gandhian Philosophy to get like minded forces to build a "Coalition of Conscience" and a "global compact" to address contemporary concerns of violence, poverty, and globalization and pave the way for non-violence, peace and harmony. This relaunching of satyagrahawas an opportunity to tell war mongers, "enough is enough stop the wars and start talking". Gandhi and Gandhian philosophy they argued belonged to the world. This book aims at compilation of the philosophy, history, evolution and modern day relevance of the principles of satyagraha and non-violence. Effort is made to provide to our readers through the writings and correspondence of Mahatma Gandhi and other contemporary sources and a comprehensive view of this movement.
