By: Material type: TextTextPublication details: Lucknow; Eastern Books; 1988Edition: 2nd edDescription: 175 pSubject(s): DDC classification:
  • 340.59 Mal
Summary: Since the publication of the first edition of A. A. Qadri's: Commentaries of Dissolution of Muslim Marriage Act, 1939 there have been some very drastic developments in the law relating to maintenance for Muslim women and children which has had its impact on the related aspect of divorce amongst Muslims, a matter which can not be discussed without dilating on their law of marriage. Hence the need to rechristen this revised edition. Besides providing a commentary on the new Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Divorce) Act, 1986 the case-law developments under all the allied statutes has been noticed and incorporated. The Family Courts Act, 1984 has also been included. Some very recent cases have been noted in the Addenda. No work in this area can be complete unless the views of great authorities like Mulla and Fyzee are also noticed. We have therefore referred to them wherever relevant and are greatly beholden to them.
