Summary: It is the object of this book to analyse the vital factors in the crisis of the national State and to clarify the alternatives, as a small contribution to the solution of the political problems which face the post-war world and, even now, the nations at war. The essential purpose of this book is not a plea for Inter-nationalism against Nationalism (whatever that may mean), or for any particular political ideology. Its main purpose is a cool analysis of the forces which, from different directions and with different objects, have undermined the national State.
