Leaving behind the ethnocentric, geocentric and culture-bound appro aches to philosophies, Roy developed his Radical Humanism in a cosmopolitan perspective. It starts from the assumption that philosophy concerns every business of life and has, there fore, to be the business of everyman.
However, the first formulations of Radical Humanism, the Twenty-two Theses had necessarily to be cast in a form not easily accessible to every man. Popularised versions often face the reader with a choice to take it or leave it.
The author of the present Exposition provides a broad general introduction, covering the genesis, development and significance of the Theses together with some of the intricate questions involved. Within this over arching frame the individual Thesis have been dealt with noting some of their knottier formulations in a manner calculated not to establish any position at all cost but to stimulate inquiry and whet appetite.
"Radical Humanism is a recipe, not a baked cake, and as recipe it has been prosented."
