Summary: THIS is the first systematic attempt to study the contribute in made by the Supreme Court to the evolution and working of Wage Policy from an operational angle. The book is divided into three parts. An attempt has been made in Part I to true the evolution of wage policy since the attainment of Independence. The principles laid down and the guidelines provided by the Supreme Court on the question of wages have also been analysed therein. Part 11 discusses important Case Law on wages decided by the Supreme Court since 1957 Part III seeks to present recommendation made by the Indian Labour Conference standing Labour Committee, other Commissions/Committees appointed by Government and the; International Labour Organization on the question of wages and related issues. An Appendix is devoted to include observations made by the Supreme Court in some other Labour Cases which have direct or indirect bearing on the payment of wages.
