Time and time again in our tension ridden world, international diplomacy has proved to be perhaps the only workable method of restoring or maintaining peace among warring nations and keeping the world safe from the horrors of a major holocaust. Experiment in Neutrality by the late Gen eral Thimayya, Chairman of the Neutral Nation's Repatriation Commission (NNRC), is the fascinating story of how lasting peace was established between North and South Korea through the successful handling by the NNRC of the problem of repatriating the very large number of prisoners of war (POWs) on either side. These POWs had been intensively brain-washed into believing they would be tortured, humiliated or even killed, if they chose to be repatriated.
