Perspectives in International Development exemplaies recent trends and approaches on long-standing issues of industrial and economic development. The contributors offer a unified view about development policy; i.e., that it could be formulated and effectively administered if governmental and non-governmental actors relaxed their ideological tensions, collaborating instead in the search for innovative solutions to existing problems. A number of the contributors believe that the prospects for innovative solutions are within reach. Unlike most conference collections, Perspectives in International Development pinpoints critical problems arising from policy practices and interpretations of administrative/organizational behavior and offers proposals for achieving optimum changes.
Perspectives in International Develop ment does not preempt ongoing searches for solutions. It is offered in good faith with a view to clarify some obscure issues as well as helping define a new agenda and direction for new opportunities of debate.
