The objective of this book is to examine patterns of groups formation and behaviour in Pakistan and their impact on political development.
The author draws heavily on his own recent fieldwork in Pakistan, interviews with leading businessmen and journalists, and a variety of unpublished material. The result is a perceptive analysis of the political scene in Pakistan. Koch k gives us an insight into the workings of interest groups, the degree to which they have developed complex bureaucratized structures for the articulation of demands, the political capital they are able to mobilize and the pattern of access to the decision-making levels. This then is also a study of the distribution of power within the Pakistani political system.
This book is in line with the author's earlier work, Business and Politics in India.
