The ties between India and Australia dates back to the 18th century. They have several commonalities which serve as a foundation for close cooperation and multifaceted interaction. Before independence, both the countries were part of the British Empire and presently both are members of the UNO, Commonwealth of Nations, G-20, IOR-ARC, ASEAN Regional Forum and Asia-Pacific Partnership on Climate and Clean Development. The essays in this collection attempt to analyse the various facets of India-Australia relations. Presenting a variety of critical viewpoints from both the countries drawn across a number of environments cultural, political, personal, sporting and travel, the contributors address critical issues concerning Australia's failure to construct and maintain a meaningful relationship with India, racist attacks on Indians, sporting culture, foreign policy, and cultural understanding.
