Human perceptions and aspirations are formulated and moulded by the environment under which they live. These differ from one social category to other. Since perceptions and aspirations are largely determined by the Psychological makeup and the socio cultural environment in which the individuals live, perceive and aspire to achieve through the interactive processes with others, hence the perceptive approach and analysis differ from discipline to discipline. Psychologists and Psychiatrists give importance to Psychological traits of the individuals whereas Sociologists empha sis upon social variables like education, income, Profession etc.
