Children are valuable assets to the nation of India. India's children are the citizens of tomorrow and their role in nation building should not be underestimated. With this in mind, India's central and state governments are monitoring the issues of child welfare and are enacting laws for the betterment of children, including a three year plan that has been implemented by the Indian Council for Child Welfare. This book - an outcome of a two day national seminar held in March 2007 at Vellalar College for Women (Erode, Tamil Nadu, India)
