It has undergone five editions and the present book is its sixth edition. It is not an exaggeration to say and it goes without saying that there is nobody in the legal profession and in the Government Departments who do not know about this book. No wonder, the book has become an authority in Service Law, - an epic by itself. All amendments and additions, to mention among a few noticeable features of the present edition of the book-recent amendments and additions on Penalties and Disciplinary Authorities etc., have been meticulously carried out. The book has been thoroughly revised. Case law and Commentary has been updated with great care. A book of such a longstanding circulation and recognition only shows that it has become indispensible for the legal profession and Government Departments, not only for presentation of their cases but for defending the Government employees. The publishers are grateful to the readers for their overwhelming and favourable response.
