Earlier too, China had shown her colour by forcibly entering and occupying Tibet in 1950.(!}ough politically nor a parr ofIndia, yer eographically
and spiritually Tibet has been the closest of all countries and far from mainland China, Beijing, since rime imrnernorial.j Hence <:China felt jittery of traditional cross-cui rural fertilisation of Lhasa and IndiiJlndo- Tibetan peaceful co-existence was cause for deep concern and acute envy.
