Summary: This is the Eighth Edition of Volume of the All India Services Manual. It contains "The All India Services Act, 1951", and the rules and regulations framed there under applicable to the members of the All India Services. The amendments issued to these rules and regulations and Government of India decisions issued so far have been incorporated in this edition. 2. The Manual is being published in three Volumes. Volume contains the rules and regulations common to all the three All India Services (IAS, IPS, IFS), Volume II contains the rules and regulations applicable to the Indian Administrative Service and Volume III contains the rules and regulations applicable to the Indian Police Service and the Indian Forest Service separately. In this edition, all Government of India decisions and related executive instructions appear below each rule/regulation for easy reference. All the rules have been made available on our web-site and can be visited at www. http://permin.nic.in. 3. While every effort has been made to ensure that there are no mistakes, it is likely that some errors might have crept in or omissions gone unnoticed. If any error of omission is noticed in this compilation, it may kindly be brought to the notice of AIS-III Section of the Department of Personnel and Training. Government of India, New Delhi. Any suggestion for further improvement in this publication will be highly appreciated.
