Law of consumer protection in india

By: Material type: TextTextPublication details: Allahbad; Central Law Agency; 2010Description: 386 pSubject(s): DDC classification:
  • 343.071 SRI 2nd ed.
Summary: Consumer is said to be the king of the market. However, right from the stage of manufacturing and production of goods to the stage of retail sale and providing of services, the Consumer is easily susceptible to gullible and unfair trade practices when he buys goods in the market or services which he avails for consideration. The laws prior to the enactment of Consumers Protection Act, 1986 did not attract much attention of the Consumer towards their rights but with the enactment of this Act, the Consumers, awareness towards their rights has grown tremendously. The amendments of the Act have widened the scope of remedial provisions. This edition of the book, which I could not bring out earlier due to my pre occupations, besides catering the needs of law and management students, will be useful to the organizations dealing day-to-day with the consumers. The consumers in general may also get a first hand information of their rights. Keen interest of Mr. R.K. Arora of M/s. Central Law Agency in bringing out this edition is acknowledged with gratitude.
