Summary: Rural urban fringe is a neglected field of research both by urban geographers as well as by regional planners. It is a zone where Urban sprawl takes place and it is equally important for agricultural produce of the city. The author has made an exhaus tive study of the rural urban fringe and has suggested the land use planning. She has presented a model which is entirly different from Von Thunen's model by examining the trend of diffusion of agricultural innovation.
