Summary: The present volume on Training of Rural Youth for Self-Employment in Rajasthan addresses itself to some sen sitive but important aspects of the scheme as to how to identify benefi Iciaries, potentialities of different trades, assessment of training institutions and designing training programmes. It also attempts to study the administrative aspects such as coordination and dele gation of authority, channels of com munication, role of expert groups and organising post-training services such as credit, raw material and mar keting facilities. The entire theme of the book revolves round the problem of better implementation of the scheme. The answer to all those problems have been provided empirically in the form of case study of a particular district of Rajasthan. The authors of the present volume being the long time researchers in this field have provided some meaningful suggestions for the better implementa tion of such an on-going scheme which aims at removing unemployment among rural youth and ultimately eradication of rural poverty. A useful book for policy planners, administrators, voluntary organisations and persons interested in the task of rural development.
