Summary: The first Edition of Chaudri's Compilation of the Civil Service Regulations corrected upto the 28th February 1950 was published on the 1st March 1950. The rules, orders, instructions and interpretations issued, under the various articles from time to time by the late Secretary of State, the late Governor General of India, the President and the Comptroller and Auditor General of India and the Audit Instructions were also incor ported under the relevant articles. 2. The subsequent Editions incorporating the changes/ amendments made from time to time were published as under: 2nd Edition 3rd Edition on the 12th February 1954. on the 20th June 1958. (Split up in two Volumes-main rules and 4th Edition appendices) on the 30th July 1960. 5th Edition on the 3rd April 1964. 6th Edition on the 20th June 1967. 7th Edition 8th Edition on the 20th January 1970. on the 31st January 1972. 9th Edition on the 31st December 1974. 10th Edition on the 31st December 1976. 11th Edition on the 31st May 1979. 3. This edition is a reprint of the Eleventh Edition and in corporates all Correction Slips issued to it and the rules and orders received from the Government of India upto the 31st January 1982. The Articles, rules, orders and instructions as the persons for whom they were meant are no longer in service have been omitted. etc. which had become obsolete or have become in-applicable 4. Twelveth Edition of Volume II printed in two parts of this Compilation contains: (1) Government Servants Conduct Rules; (i) Medical Attendance Rules and the list of inadmissible Medicines etc, (i) Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules; (iv) Children Education Allowance Rules; () Leave Travel Concession Rules; (vi) Delegation of Financial Powers Rules; (vi) General Provident Fund Rules; (viii) Contributory Provident Fund Rules; (ix) Travel concession to Central Government Servants Rules, (x) Official Language Rule, 1976. (xi) Employees Group Insurance Scheme; and in fact all rules required for day to day working of an office with the orders/instruct ions/audit ruling thereunder. 5. Government of India Ministry of Home Affairs, Finance and Defence, Cabinet Secretariat (Personnel Depart ment and Administrative Reforms) had already brought on their mailing lists. The Ministry of Health have also brought on their mailing list. 6. The book has been approved as a reference book for the Examinations conducted by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India †Posts and Telegraphs Department and the Controller General of Defence Accounts. It is in fact used as a reference book in all examinations where the Civil Service Regulations have been included in the syllabus and the questions are answered with the aid of books.

The first Edition of Chaudri's Compilation of the Civil Service Regulations corrected upto the 28th February 1950 was
