Summary, etc. The October Revolution has led to cohesion among three major motive forces of our time: world socialism, international workers' movement and the national-liberation struggle. The growing and strengthening of multi-faceted cooperation between India and the socialist countries is itself an embodiment of this cohesion. It is exerting a positive influence on the development of international relations in the world and on the strengthening of peace in Asia and

Africa and the rest of the world. The present volume, although by no means comprehensive, attempts to provide an overall view of the cohesion, unity and significance of the three main forces of the contemporary period.

The first part gives a broad picture of the deep impact of the ideas of the Great October Socialist Revolution on the socialist countries and shows how their joint efforts and mutual assistance guarantee an ever fuller satisfaction of the material and spiritual requirements of their people and help the building of socialism and communism there. The second part surveys the growing all-round cooperation between the socialist community and one of the leading developing countries. India. It shows how the socialist community has contributed to India's

advance and to the creating of the sinews of its self-reliance. The third part presents some of the most notable documents illustrating the high levels of cooperation in almost all the important spheres of national and foreign policies of India and the socialist community. For reasons of space some of the documents have been quoted in part.

This collection of articles, speeches and documents will be of interest to the students of international relations as well as to the politically awake lay readers.
