Summary, etc. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar cast his footprints on the sands of time through his fervent struggle and spirit of emancipation of the age-old neglected section of the Indian society. He inspired millions to awaken from the slumber of lethargy and duality, inferiority and indolence, ignorance and poverty. His zeal for the downtrodden was matchless in the galaxy of the great men. His love for humanity was par excellence, intuition was natural and erudition was hard earned. These qualities were used by him for the upliftment of the depressed and oppressed sections of the Indian society.

He was born in the dust of the caste system and rose to a very high status through enormous effort and by suffering unkind bitterness. He overpowered all constraints and reached the Constituent Assembly to become an architect of the Indian Constitution. His academic career is an indicator of his thirst for knowledge and stands as inspiration to the students of the following generations. His scholarship, pedantry and character are reflected in his multi-faceted personality.

Ambedkar started his movements through educational institutions, converted them into social organisations, moved to the political parties and offered solace to the people in Buddhism. His path was full of adversities of traditionalism and custom bondage even on the part of suffering masses. But he moulded them and led them towards social and political changes.

Throughout his life, Ambedkar fought battles against injustice and inequality striving to imbibe the spirit of equality, liberty and fraternity. He stepped on the path shown by Lord Buddha, Saint Kabir and Mahatma Jortiba Phule and strove to strengthen the thread of humanity with zeal, courage and erudition.

This work analyses the struggle that has been going on between socio economic status-quo-ism and socio economic dynamism in the Indian society since the adoption of the Constitution.

Dr. Kasare provides the reader with an excellent exposition of all such aspects.
