| Summary, etc. | In the past fifty years, the industrial education function in America has evolved from an initial concentration upon the development of apprentices through the establishment of foreman training and later into executive development. In this period of time there has been a number of parallel developments such as improvements in methods for identifying training needs, the refinement of a variety of training techniques, greater sophis cation in evaluation of the results of training, and considerable experimen tation in deciding upon the most appropriate type of organizational pattern for carrying out industrial training activities.<br/>The purpose of this book is to provide a framework for placing these developments in industrial education and training in perspective for the practitioner in industry as well as the social scientist and student, all of whom require a meaningful and convenient vantage point for understanding how these phenomena are interrelated. |
