At the same time it is one of the most complex areas, significantly on account of variegated demographic, ethnographic, social, cultural and economic characteristics.<br/>India is a country of diversities from the standpoint of population composition, besides other. With a view to promoting unity among the people and maintaining national integration, the right to travel, settle, and carry out economic pursuits anywhere within the boundary of India, barring a few places, have been enshrined in the constitution. But during recent years, the slogan of "The son of the soil' has become the burning topic, which can conveniently be attributed to the economic reasons on account of a number of factors, such as unplanned growth of education, resulting into swelling number of educated unemployed, and rapid growth of population, undesirable social developments resulting into social and political tensions etc.<br/>The present book is intended to focus attention on the implications of rural urban migration policy.
