| Summary, etc. | The term micro level planning refers to the preparation of development plans for smaller areas such as the District, Development Block and the villages. While the village is perhaps an ideal unit for the preparation of development plans a distinction has to be made among local, regional and national levels of planning and they have to be spatially integrated.<br/>Although there has been considerable emphasis on the preparation of District Plans very few attempts have been made so far. What is important is the formulation of a spatial framework of development which would include plans for land use, human settlements. social services and amenities required by the people, lavout of different types of roads, electricity transmission and the locations of agricultural inputs, markets and industries which are based on the primary products of that area. The Karnal area study is an attempt in this direction. |
