Summary, etc. | Urbanisation and industrialisation are causing disturbance in the ecological balance and hence we are experiencing slow but steady deterioration in the quality of urban environment. In this perspective, urban environmental plan-. ning and management are the urgent need of the day and have become a major concern of geographers, plan ners and environmentalists. As yet there is a great dearth of definitive works on Indian cities.<br/><br/>This edited book IS a collection of 29 papers dealing with manifold specific Indian Urban environmental problems contributed by about 46 geographers, economists, Sociologists, planners ecologists from all over and India.
