Having a large share in the urban labour force, the rise in the cost of public employment is one of the most vital omnipresent public issues. The meaningful question In estimating the unit cost of public employment, therefore. requires the wages (prices) to economic efficiency which determines the allocation of resources and their mobility over the space.<br/><br/>The purpose of enquiry of this book is to focus attention on the social and economic condition of employees in central government and public sector undertakings including their Income. pattern of expenditure and savings. But the focal point of the study is almed at knowing the relation between the growth in public expenditure and the growth in public employment. its cost and structure and the estimates of the total and marginal cost of em ployment in terms of direct and indirect cost.
