The last few years have seen an increasing awareness of this by social researchers and the general public. Re cent legislation on child labour has high lighted the magnitude of this problem. Its crippling effect on a weakened eco nomy and, in many cases, itin human effects on the young are burning issues.<br/><br/>The literature on child labour is, un fortunately, limited to random articles and seminar presentations. This volume is an attempt to make up this deficiency by combining the work of eminent social scientists and research scholars. The book includes specific case-studies on the pre valence of child labour in particular industries. Remedies, social and legisla tive, are proposed and explored. |
