Summary, etc. The author of the book has tried through his research experiments that how children develop different scientific concepts in their mind and how they classify different objects considering them as similar or alike. Most of the children found unable to discriminate between the mass and weight which are two different concepts based on the Physical Science. Also many of them do not discrimi nate the relationship between mass, weight of objects with their volumes. The book also categorises the different classificatory skills about the objects of different size, shape and colours which include so many variables at a time.

The book may provide the variety of experiences to the parents, teachers and others who deal with children. The children will also be aware of these concepts upto a certain extent, though for them time factor or age is a barrier in developing these concepts, even then a variety of experiences will bring up an enhancement in their performance and under standing. The experiments delt in this book are quite interesting to the children and they take it as a game for them.

Through this investigation an attempt has been made to answer a few questions regard ing the relationship between mass, weight and volume, the skills of classification and syntax of equivalence transformations.
