Summary, etc. Shri Vadilal Lallubhai Mehta, the author, born in 1903, is a freedom fighter, who studied at the Gujarat Vidyapith founded by Mahatma Gandhi in Ahmedabad. He was imprisoned several times during the civil disobe dience movement. A well-known indust rialist and entrepreneur, Shri Mehta was a member of the old Central Assembly in 1945 and Gujarat Legis lative Assembly also. He was the first Chairman of the Bombay State as well as the Gujarat State Transport Corporations, and later worked as a member of a number of all India Committees and Corporations. Closely connected with a number of social and educational institutions in Gujarat and elsewhere, Shri Mehta brings to bear on his task as a Gandhian thinker a varied experience of life, in all its aspects.<br/><br/>Shri Mehta frequently shares his ideas and thinking with noted Gandhi an thinkers, like Shri Vinoba Bhave and Shri Dada Dharmadhikari, His book "EQUALITY THROUGH TRUSTEESHIP" which presents "an economic model using Gandhian Trusteeship Idea as a corner stone" and for which the Foreword was written by the late Dr. E. F. Schumacher, was released by late Shri Jayprakash Narain and has been acclaimed the world over. very widely.
