Despite the passage of the Wildlife and Countryside Act in 1981, urban, rural and wilderness areas remain under constant threat. Planners and 'land managers' are expected to make decisions under many constraints that affect the conservation or creation of natural habitats. Some of their actions enfuriate nature conservationists and naturalists. This book will assist such people, as well as students and other profes sional people, to understand the steps needed before decisions which affect the natural environment are made. |
