Foreign policy formulation : case study of the nuclear test ban treaty of 1963 - Columbus Charles E. Merrill Pub. 1971 - 191p.
This study represents the author's belief that there is a need to examine policy formulation within the totality of the political system rather than as an isolated event. While it is a case study of the development of the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty of 1963, it is hoped that some hypotheses are suggested which will allow them to be tested on other United States foreign policies and ultimately within the broader context of comparative foreign policy. This is a task of which the surface has barely been scratched, but the author hopes that this study will be one more step on the path toward a more scientific approach to the study of politics.
My task has been aided due to the efforts of many people on my behalf. The original writing and field research was made possible by a grant from the Department of Government of Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida. Professors Marian D.
