This book is divided into two parts. Part I contains a synthesis of our views on the issues raised by our research, and our main conclusions. It is this the heart of the study. Part II consists of a series of case studies of eight developing countries, all of which have natural gas but have developed it to varying levels. The countries included are: Argentina, Egypt, Malaysia, etc.
Many other developing countries of course also have gas reserves, but we had to choose a sample for the purposes of our study. This group of countries was chosen in consultation with the sponsors of the study, and according two main group
