he focus of this study is on the foreign policy of the Jana Sangh. It seeks to examine the party's views with regard
to Indian foreign policy, which it might adopt in the event of its coming to power. All the major foreign policy issues have been
analysed and an attempt has been made to offer to the reader a clear and comprehensive view of the party's approach towards
the major problems of Indian foreign policy. The ideology of the party has also been examined at some length as it would put
in proper perspective its orientation ,ilnd approach towards India's foreign policy.
The study is primarily based on such literature as election manifestoes, the Jana Sangh Working Committee and the General
Council -Resolutions as well as publications issued by the party office, and the weekly Organiser, the so-called "semi-official
organ" of the party. Extensive use of Organiser has beep made in view of its being actually the leading publication of the ,'party and other works by Jana Sangh leaders have also been used.
