Cultural anthropology: a contemporary perspective
Keesing, Roger M.
Cultural anthropology: a contemporary perspective - 2nd ed. - New York "Holt, Rinehart and Winston." 1981 - 560p.
The book is focused more directly on the core areas of sociocultural anthropology. Roger have reduced considerably the space and detail devoted to human evolution and prehistory-a narrowing motivated by considerations of theory and by the increasing availability of excellent texts in these areas where a nonspecialist treads at great risk. Topics such as medical anthropology and the anthropology of art, although important in their own right, are outside the area of my focus as well.
