He has been an active trade union leader and has held several ministerial portfolios in the cabinets of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. Mr. Sathe has used his experience in Parliament and as a minister in the Union Cabinet to write eight books, dealing mainly with India's problems of development.
This book is a compilation of Vasant Sathe's writings during the course of all the years he has been a public figure. It consists of four chapters, viz. Universal Vision, Political Stability, Economic Self Reliance and Social Reforms. He has dedicated this book to the leaders of the younger generation, in the hope that they may find some of his ideas useful.
