Money, saving and investment in english economics 1800 -1850 - London Macmillan 1962 - 188 p.

This short book is offered as a contribution towards a better understanding of the development of economic thinking especially in the field of aggregative analysis. In all essential features it is a restatement of a thesis accepted by the University of London for the Ph.D. degree in 1958. My supervisor for that study was Professor Lionel (now Lord) Robbins and I owe a deeply felt debt of gratitude to him for his continual help and encouragement at all stages of the work. I should also like to thank the many friends who willingly gave of their time to discuss various points and read innumerable drafts of the manuscript. I am especially grateful to G. C. Archibald, K. Klappholz, M. Peston and H. Pollins.
