Child labour in India
Shah, Nazir Ahmed.
Child labour in India - New Delhi Anmol Pub. 1992 - 143 p.
Employment of childern in different sectors of the Economy is a faitac compli of any and every Human Society, be it underdeveloped, deve loping or the developed one. While the problem is rampant in certain sectors and economics, it is less prevalent in other sectors. Neverthe less the unorganised sector remains by far the most vulnerable sector where the magnitude of exploitation and abuse of childern is found in an alarming proportion. The onslaught of industrial and technological revolu tions coupled with the changing life styles have added new dimensions to the whole problem. As a matter of fact the problem is vexed and widespread.
Childern are Greatly loved in India but this does not assure them the care and concern which is their due. Our country is emphasising on tech nology important no doubt, but it is the human being that counts, and if he counts, then he counts much more as a child.
Despite a plethora of legal mea sures enacted at national level, employment of childern in all sectors continues unabated. It looks difficult though not impossible to abolish this practice in the years to come.
