In search of Euro-Communism.

In search of Euro-Communism. - London Macmillan. 1981 - 218 P.

In Search of Eurocommunism has, above all, the virtues of variety. Based on a series of seminars given at St Antony's College, Oxford, it brings together for the first time prominent members of the three main Eurocommunist Parties on the one hand, and on the other, scholars specialising in the affairs of the Spanish, French and Italian Communist Parties and in other aspects of Eurocommunism. Thus, the contributions by Manuel Azcarate, Jean Elleinstein and Giuseppe Vacca are paired with analyses, from various points of view, of the PCE by Paul Preston, the PCF by Isaac Aviv, and the PCI by Christopher Seton-Watson. These pairs of chapters on each party are, in turn, set between two studies of aspects of Eurocommunism not confined to anyone party:
H. T. Willetts's opening chapter deals with Soviet views on Eurocommunism, while Branko Pribicevic explores the implications of Eurocommunism for Communist Parties in themselves. The editor's concluding essay examines the relationship between Eurocommunism and the crisis of capitalism, with special reference to the criticisms which have been levelled against Eurocommunism.
