520			_aSom books are "planned" while others "evolve". This book falls in the latter category and has evolved over the past one decade. It contains selected papers written and published by me on various aspects of public enterprise management and policy during this period. Frankly, at the time of writing these papers, I had no plans of bringing them out as part bof a book. However, when I took stock of my writings in this area recently, I was pleasantly surprised to discover more "order" in the total collection than I had imagined. This realisation encouraged me to to bring out the present volume.
