520			_aA total of 25 technical papers were received and out of that 23 were presented by the delegates in the technical sessions. The presentation of the papers was taken up immediately after the inaugural functions. The inagural function was presided over by Mr. Athimoolam, IAS, Secretary to Government, Agriculture Department, Chennai and Dr. D.K. Chaddha, Chairman, Central Ground Water Board, New Delhi was the chief guest and inaugurated the two days workshop. During the inaugural function, the galaxy of dignitaries gave key presentation's and these included Vice-Chancellor, Gandhigram and the District Collector, Coimbatore. The papers were presented in four technical sessions. The first technical session was organised immediately after the inaugural function and a total of four papers were presented in the session. This was followed by a field visit to various DPAP watersheds implemented by DRDA and IWDP. Salaiyur watershed implemented by CSWCRTI, Research Centre, Ooty. The participants evinced keen interest and also interacted very well during the field visit to these watersheds. They very much appreciated the central nursery established by DRDA at Kattampatty watershed. Towards the end of the field visit a small function for the distribution of upgraded drums to the self help folk artists and agricultural implements to the farmers and spectacles to needy people were distributed by the District Collector who was the chief guest.
