| 520 | _aThe general lack of facilities to accommodate large numbers of stu dents who take labor courses and who must read supplementary sources has prompted us to put together a book of readings in labor economics and labor relations. We hope that professors and students in the labor field will find the book helpful in the areas of labor history, labor eco nomics, collective bargaining, and industrial relations. Supplementation of basic texts has been our major criterion in the selection of articles. Particular emphasis has been on making available articles which libraries cannot stock in quantites, but we have attempted also to make a judi cious selection from both the classics and the current literature. The book is organized in such a way that it can be used as an inte grated whole or any ection may be used to enhance the student's understanding in a particular area. Introductory remarks are provided for each section of the volume to give some assistance to the reader. A brief explanatory note highlighting the major points dealt with by the author in each essay enables one to determine the relative use of the ma terial rather easily. | ||
