520 _aThis book is the direct outgrowth of those lectures. As the titles would suggest, the basic theme remains the same but a number of new topics have been developed and much new material has been added to the original lectures. ¿ The result is a book of policy conclusions which should have real relevance for both the developed and the developing countries. As we move into the 1970's, two great problems stand out above all others: (1) how the world community can avoid the kind of conflicts that might lead to all-out nuclear war; and (2) how we can utilize world resources so that mankind may be able to meet the urgent challenge of poverty and then move on to better things.
