520 | _aThe problem of Child Labour and Women Workers has assumed serious dimensions to an alarming extent thereby attracting at tention of all concerned quarters both at International as well as national level on urgent basis. In this study sincere efforts have been made to identify the problem in the right perspective and to critically analyse the role of Governmental as well as non-govern mental agencies including ILO and other international organisations. An in-depth study has been made of the constitutional as well as legal aspects on the basis of relevant case law on the subject. Role of the NGOs in this context has been systematically discussed in order to bring forth the plight of child labour and Women Workers particularly engaged in unorganised sector of employment and re medial measures have been suggested to prevent discrimination against this otherwise exploited categories of workers. Various modes have been suggested for making statutory schemes more meaningful and re sult-oriented. Attention has been focused to study the position of child labour and women workers both in advanced Western Coun tries as well as the developing countries of Asian region in order to evolve a model comprehensive legislation suitable for devel oping countries including India. | ||
