520 _aThis study critically examines the scope of the right to travel in all its dimensions in the light of the relevant constitutional provisions and judicial decisions. The study is divided into six chapters. The first chapter gives an account of the constitutional contours of the right to domestic travel and of the permissible legislative restrictions. The second chapter sets out the constitutional relationship of the right to domestic travel with some of the other fundamental rights guaranteed in Part III of the Constitution. The third chapter critically examines judicial responses to the various restrictive legislative measures in the light of relevant judicial decisions. Chapter four is devoted to the discussion of the impact of emergencies on the exercise of the right. Chapter five explores the constitutional position of the right to international travel. The last chapter embodies the general conclusions emerging from the study.
