520			_aThe purpose of this book is to trace out the historical background of the property relations in the colonial era and their formulation in the Constituent Assembly and to examine the scope of the express and implied conditions in the light of Judicial pronouncements and cons titutional amendments before and after the Forty-fourth Amendment respectively. It deals with the developments during the colonial era in regard to property relations, their protection and national commitment to secure for all liberty, equality and social and economic justice after Independence. It contains the deliberations of the Consti tuent Assembly and its committees which framed Constitutional provisions relating to property rights. It contains the debates and discussions having taken place in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and the various arguments projected in support of or against the Forty fourth Amendment Bill 1978. An attempt has been made to ascertain the scope of the express conditions constituting Constitutional protection against state's acquisi tion of private property before the Forty fourth Amendment and implied Constitutional protection after the amendment.
