520 _aThe book deals with forty varied patterns of Government- Parliamentary in Part I, Presidential in Part II and Parliamentary- Presidential in Part III. While the theoretical aspects and essential characteristics of the three forms of government have been discussed in the Introduction, the last chapter in each part contains a compara- tive overview of the exeeutives, legislatures, peculiar features of and conclusions regarding the various patterns dealt within the preceding chapters. Part IV contains a brief discussion of related aspects in three chapters entitled : Patterns of Judiciary, Party Systems and Overall Conclusions On the one band every effort has been made to analyse the main organs of the varied patterns of government covered by the volume, on the other hand an attempt has been made to compare the essential features of the different forms and varied patterns of government We believe that the book will be found very useful and infor- mative not only by the senior students of government in the univer- sities but also by the legislators and parliamentarians of the different countries interested in the subject. We gratefully acknowledge our dabt to all those eminent authors from whose valuable works we have taken several ideas and quotations. Our thanks are also due to Shri B.V.
