It is the first study of its kind and it provides new and fresh perspective on the policies of the lend locked states. Since the second world war the problems of the land Jocked states have increased. This has resulted from the proliferation of the land-locked states as part of the decolonization process, particulary in Africa, and the need for those countries to participate actively in the world trading system without fear of interference with their transit-trade.
