520			_aFirst published in 1924 as "Diaries of two tours in the un administered area east of the Naga Hills," this monograph was a result of tours made by Mr. J.P. Mills, L.P. and J.H. hutton, noted anthropologist in that part of the Naga Hills which had never been visited by a white man before for an anthropological study. Walking on foot, the team had the opportunity of meeting the heads of the various clans of the Nagas and knowing them first hand. It was during these travels that the authors observed minutely the various Naga manners and customs relating to carrying of egg-shells in hostile country, construction of 'morungs', head hunting, fertility rites, disposal of the dead, practice of hanging the combs of bees or wasps in the entrances of houses, practice of 'Chagyik', tattooing, etc. etc. The author also makes observations about tribes elsewhere in Borneo, New Guinea, East Africa, The Andaman Islands etc. who have similar customs. Obviously, the monograph is a gold mine of information on the Nagas of these areas. The monograph has been out-of print for a long time now and has, therefore, been reprinted in a limited edition for the benefit of the scholarly world.
