520 _aNothing can go faster than the speed of light. But it seems the superfast, snazzy, chic, and hi-tech vehicles will soon outshine this adage. Fast, faster, fastest technological advancements in transportation have made mobility of people and goods easy, connecting the entire world and expanding world trade. It has steered globalization giving a boost to the wealth of nations. On the flipside, aircraft, ships, trucks, and trains powered by the combustion of fossil fuels, moving across the sky, oceans, and land have accelerated climate change, besides giving way to the problem of global energy crisis due to the huge demand and short supply of fossil fuels. So the world now aims at combining energy-efficient technologies with clean fuels to enjoy the benefits of vehicles while being sensitive to the environment. Hybrids, electric cars, and biofuels are some of the examples in this regard. However, there is still a long way to go.
