The need for a new edition was bring felt for quite some time and I am therefore very happy place this new edition before the readers. Amendments have been noticed not only in the many statutes but also in the Rules, Notifications and Schemes. The more recent amendments are included in the addends. State amendments wherever relevant have also been included. Amongst the new statutes are the Child Labour (Prohibi tion and Regulation) Act, 1986, the Dock Workers (Safety, Health and Welfare) Act, 1986, the Environment Protection Act, 1986 and the Labour Laws (Exemption from Furnishing Returns and Maintaining Registers by Certain Establishments) Act, 1988 (given in the addenda). The fate of two important Bills pending in Parliament could not be determined in the monsoon session of Parliament just ended (Sept. 1988). In the event that one or both of them are passed a coupon has been attached in this book which will entitle the readers to get a free copy of these Acts directly from the publishers. | ||
