520 _aMany aspects of the demand for the autonomy have been debated through books published from time to time. But the GORKHALAND issue and the Mizo Accord have found not even a passing reference so far. We have in this publication taken up these problems hurriedly, besides the Conclave recommendations for an autonomy of States which form part of the federo-unitary structure of the Indian polity and yet upon whom the Central Government wants to force its peremptory rights. A reference to the Jharkhand movement is also relatively new as an academic pursuit. In the scheme of this work we have also brought in the planks of political parties and their recent activity.
